The Alouettes announced Monday that American all-star receiver Austin Mack is back with the team.

Mack played one pre-season game with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons last week, after signing with them in January. He was released by the team last Monday.

“We just added a star receiver to our roster and we are very happy,” Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia said. “Mack was an important part of our success in 2023, he knows our coaches, our players and is familiar with our game systems. In addition, he is a person who brings a lot with his positive attitude. It’s a great day for our organization.”

In his first year in the CFL, the 26-year-old wide receiver was selected to the all-star team while helping the team hoist the Grey Cup. He caught 78 passes for 1,154 yards and four touchdowns. The former Ohio State University player reached the 100-yard receiving mark five times in 17 games.

He finished fifth in the league receiving yards and fourth in yards after catches, with 413.

Then, during the Grey Cup game last November, he caught six passes for 103 yards and a touchdown.

Mack played 11 games for the New York Giants in 2020, with seven catches for 91 yards. He also suited up for the Tennessee Titans, in addition to taking part in the San Francisco 49ers’ camp in 2022.
