Larne sit on the verge of a Play-Off place in the UEFA Conference League as they look to close out a 1-0 lead in their third qualifying round tie against Kosovan side Ballkani.

This would have been a remarkable winner if Thomson had managed to put this in the back of the net as the midfielder charges onto a bouncing ball and unleashes a howitzer of a volley that bounces just wide of Enea Kolici’s post. That close to a potential winner for Larne!

And immediately a chance at the other end for Larne as the ball is whipped in from the left by Andy Ryan onto the head of Paul O’Neill… whose header lands on the roof of the net rather than in the back of it! So close!
If this was on target, it was a goal, a long ball forward from Ballkani headed down by Sean Graham right into the path of Kryeziu, who has a go and leaves Rohan Ferguson flat-footed… but it’s just dragged wide and the home side survive!
Andy Ryan cuts across his man in midfield and is tripped up, so Larne have a very dangerous free-kick from which to attack from in the dying stages.
They did it last week… but won’t do it this week as Ballkani marshal it away.

Sunday Adetunji does remarkably well to keep the ball alive in the box, holding off FOUR Larne defenders in order to pass the ball across the face of goal but Emerllahu is unable to slide in and get the touch on it that would have surely won it for the Kosovans!
This one doesn’t seem to have much in it as O’Neill jumps for a ball over the top with Astrit Thaqi and the Kosovan goes down clutching his jaw. Bit of a soft one there but a card nonetheless.
And another opportunity for Adetunji as a low ball into the box finds the striker, his touch is a little heavy and takes him closer to the by-line than he would like but the shot is vicious and isn’t a million miles away from sneaking into the top corner. Ballkani having a little purple patch here.
The Nigerian gets two bites at the cherry as a wonderful ball over the top from Walid Hadidi sets him in behind, only for Joe Thomson to get a good block in to quell the initial threat, but the ball does make its way back to Adetunji for a second go and this time his rasping drive from just outside the box is well turned aside by Rohan Ferguson.
No arguments from the midfielder as he swipes a leg at Queven as the Brazilian sprints into the Larne half and the yellow card is correctly brandished.
