Donemana consolidated their lead at the top of the Long’s SuperValu Premiership on Sunday with a five-wicket victory over Eglinton.

Set 241 for victory, William McClintock’s hard-hitting 85 (11 fours and four sixes) launched their chase in style, and Ireland international Andy McBrine hit the winning runs with two overs to spare.

Donemana have a 25-point lead over Eglinton with just two games remaining, although Newbuildings kept their title hopes alive – they are a further 15 points back in third with a game in hand – with a three-wicket win over Bready.

David Rankin led Bready’s charge having reached his century in his side’s 245 for five, but although Newbuildings still needed 81 from the last 10 overs, they eased home with eight balls to spare thanks to Ryan Hunter’s 79 from 69 balls.
