A man who died after a killer shot him near Woodbine Beach last week has been identified as a Quebec resident.
Dacia Mbongo, 21, was fatally wounded in a shooting around 10:40 p.m. last Thursday in the Lake Shore Blvd.-Duggan Rd. area, near Woodbine Beach, according to Toronto Police.
Witnesses reported hearing up to 11 gunshots. Police said shots rang out after a group of men were arguing.
Shot in the chest, emergency personnel rushed Mbongo to a hospital, where he later died.
While police described the killing as targeted, officers expressed concern about public safety following the brazen daylight shooting.
The investigation into Toronto’s 52nd homicide of the year continues, and police said officers will maintain a visible presence in the area.
Police are looking for anyone with video surveillance of the area to come forward.
