Police have arrested a young woman after two people were allegedly attacked with a knife.

Officers responded to an incident at a property in north Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

Two people suffered knife injuries and a third was punched in the head.

Sergeant Green said: “At approximately 1.50am a report was received that three people had been assaulted by the woman at a property in the Cairndale area.

“Two people were sliced with a knife during the attack and a third person was punched in the head.

“The woman, aged 25 was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.

“She remains in police custody at this time.

“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or with footage that could assist with enquiries is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 110 of 10/08/24.”
