An urgent appeal has been launched for a “violent” patient who could be at risk to women after he escaped from a care facility.
Police are urging people not to approach Balasankar Narayanan after he broke free from an east London care institution on Sunday.
The 44-year-old was last seen at 6.40pm when he ran away from staff at a park while on escorted leave from the Ilford facility.
The Metropolitan Police have warned that the patient “can be violent and is considered a risk to women”.

Anyone who sees Narayanan should contact police immediately.
Officers say he has links across London including Newham, Greenford, Hammersmith, Highgate and Ilford, as well as in the West Midlands.
He was previously found in Grays in Essex and in Manchester.

A spokesman for the force said: “Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a man who absconded while on escorted leave from a care facility in Ilford.
“While our investigation to locate Balasankar continues, we are appealing to the public to help locate him.
“He can be violent and is considered a risk to women.
“If you see him, please don’t approach him but call police immediately.
