Record 29-time Isle of Man TT race winner Michael Dunlop will compete in the Superbike and Lightweight classes at the Manx Grand Prix this month from August 18-26.

Dunlop returns to the legendary 37.73-mile Mountain Course where he made history in June, taking over from his uncle Joey as the most successful TT rider ever.

The Ballymoney man won the Classic Superbike race at the Manx GP in 2023 and will defend his title on a new machine this year after making the switch to a 916 Ducati.

Dunlop previously enjoyed a longstanding association with Team Classic Suzuki, stretching back for more than a decade.

However, the 35-year-old has switched to the iconic Italian machine for his Superbike bid, while Dunlop will again compete in the Lightweight race on his MD Racing Honda 250.

Under the guise of the Classic TT, Dunlop took the inaugural Superbike honours in 2013 on Team Classic Suzuki’s 1100cc XR69 machine followed by another victory in 2016 when he also set a new lap record of 126.808mph.

A last lap retirement followed in both 2019 and 2022 on the XR69 machine before Dunlop switched to the later 750cc GSX-R SRAD model for a successful bid last summer.
