Nigel Farage has said he does not believe he would work with any of the candidates running for the Conservative leadership, claiming the party is so split they will “struggle to be coherent”.

He told GB News: “My view on the Conservatives is that they completely betrayed trust over the course of not just the last five years, but 14 years and I think they need to be replaced. So I don’t see a working accommodation with them at all.

“I think whoever becomes the leader, they’re so split down the middle that they’re going to struggle to be coherent on anything.

“It seems [Suella Braverman] feels very isolated in the Conservative Party. She’s almost sort of said, ‘well, look, no one here agrees on what I stand for’. So maybe she will, maybe she won’t [join Reform].

“It’s not my priority. My priority is to build Reform. If people want to come that’s great, but I’m not, I’m not going to spend my time chasing them around.

“Remember, it’s a split party, and 50% of the Conservative Party would resign if I was a member of it.

“You’ve got people in the Conservative Party who’ve wanted me to join them for years, I’ve never wanted to join them, and thank goodness I didn’t.

“I don’t see how the rift gets healed between the One Nation globalists and the more Eurosceptic wing of the party. I don’t see that being mended anytime soon.

“Had I been an MP the last time around, I would have voted for Suella Braverman. She was the only one I thought represented policies that I might back. She’s not even a candidate.”
