A man has been taken to hospital with significant injuries after he was shot in the leg in Co Down.
The incident happened in the early hours of this morning after police received a report that a man had attended hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
It’s believed the man had been walking in the Ganaway Walk area in Bangor a short time earlier when he was attacked.
A police spokesperson said: “This has left the victim with significant injuries to his leg.
“Our enquiries are at an early stage and we would appeal for anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact us.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting and who may have CCTV, dash-cam or mobile footage which could be of assistance. Our detectives can be contacted on 101, quoting reference number 57 of 03/08/24.
