To quote their own marketing: “Raccoon Lager is not the same old trash.”

The charity beer, inspired by Toronto’s ever-present masked bandits, has been launched by Streets of Toronto, an indie media company, with all of the proceeds going to the Daily Toronto Food Bank.

Each of the four collectable beer cans has a different raccoon mascot paying homage to Toronto’s neighbourhoods and its occupants’ perceived occupations with cheeky names and job titles like Kenny Sington (Kensington): Graffiti Artiste; Lesley Ville (Leslieville): Humans Resources; Lawrence Park (Lawrence Park): Finance Bro; and Danielle Forth (Danforth): Person Trainer.

Described as having “bold flavours and refreshing crispness,” Raccoon Lager was made with family-owned Canadian craft beer producer Tomorrow Brew Co. and is available at such top Toronto spots as Seven Numbers Danforth, Madame Boeuf, Fetzun, Fat Pasha, select Gabby’s Roadhouse locations and NBA Courtside Restaurant.

Torontonians can also get the beer at 50 LCBO locations in the downtown core and across the GTA. It is available by request at non-participating LCBOs as well.

The Daily Bread Food Bank supports more than 250 agencies across Toronto in the fight against poverty.
