Two different demonstrations, two different arrests and charges involving alleged assaults on police officers in Toronto.

Toronto Police say that around 6:15 p.m. Thursday, a demonstration was being held at Yonge and Dundas Sts.

During the rally, a police officer was allegedly assaulted by a demonstrator who also allegedly was in possession of a prohibited weapon.

Osken Vural, 31, of Toronto, is charged with assaulting a peace officer and carrying a concealed weapon.

In the second instance, on Wednesday, a demonstration was being held in the area of The Esplanade and Lower Sherbourne St., near St. Lawrence Market.

At around 6:45 p.m., police allege one of the attendees twice assaulted a Toronto Police officer.

Cops also allege the same accused attended the Thursday demonstration at Yonge and Dundas, where officers recognized her and made an arrest.

Niko Newell, 23, of Toronto, is charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
