A British model has declared that she wants to be the biggest Muslim porn star in the world.
Aaliyah Yasin — not her real name — claims she gets slammed by haters for showing off her body at the same time she wears the traditional hijab.
Former porn star Mia Khalifa was targeted for death when she wore a hijab in a sex scene. But Yasin is sticking with the hijab because of her strict upbringing.
The OnlyFans star told The UK Sun she is not a practising Muslim because she likes the occasional drink. But her strict upbringing inspired her to enter the porn world.
“I was forced to wear a hijab when I was growing up,” she told the British tabloid. “I’m reclaiming it because I was forced to wear this and I was so repressed.
“People criticize me for using it in this way but why are they watching me in the first place? It’s sheer hypocrisy. The hijab in that context shocks people but consent is involved, but I’m not breaking any laws. I’m consenting to it but it makes people uncomfortable.”
Yasin admitted that Khalifa is one of her inspirations.
“Mia Khalifa broke boundaries for women of colour, even though she’s from a Catholic background herself,” Yasin said.
“I love making porn while wearing my hijab. It’s so empowering to wear it with your own consent. She did it. Why can’t I? Last year I gained 40,000 followers in one month on Twitter.”
Growing up in Birmingham wasn’t easy, she said. Racist bullies would spit on her and she turned to friendship apps to make new friends.
Her OnlyFans began while still married to her now ex-husband. At first, it was only snapshots of her feet decorated in henna designs.
That led to sex scenes with men and women while maintaining a relationship with her new boyfriend.
“I sleep with people for work, but my sex life with my boyfriend is completely separate from this,” she said, adding she will not perform any scenes involving Islam’s holy book, the Quran.
She said: “Hats off to the Muslim porn stars that do (it0, I’m just not comfortable.”
Ironically, she said many of her ardent followers are married, South Asian Muslim men — including Islamic scholars. Last year’s Ramadan saw a huge spike in followers, she said.
“I don’t mind being pigeonholed,” she said. “While I get a lot of hate within the community I also get lots of messages from both men and women telling me I’m an inspiration for breaking barriers.
“Lots of messages are from women and people in the LGBTQ+ community. They all come to me and say, I’m so glad you’re an ally and I’m happy to be.
“I’m so proud of who I’ve become and I want to be the world’s biggest Muslim porn star because I grew up Muslim,” the British news outlet quoted her as saying.
“I grew up strict. I grew up being forced to do things I didn’t want to do. So now’s my chance to reclaim it all.”
But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Her family was somewhat upset by her choices and she has been threatened with acid attacks.
“They’re all villagers back in Pakistan who claim they’ll come to the U.K. just to attack me so I take it really lightly — but it still hurts,” she said.
