Pedestrian left in critical condition after being hit by lorry on M1
In a statement released at around 3.45pm, the PSNI said: “At around 6.50am, it was reported that a collision had occurred between a pedestrian and a lorry travelling on the motorway west-bound. The road, closed for seven hours, has now fully reopened.
“The injured man, aged in his 60s, is in a critical condition in hospital.
“An investigation is underway and anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 432 28/07/24.”

M1 reopens after crash
M1 closure update
Traffic is being diverted off at Blacks Road (Junction 3).
According to the PSNI, the closure is likely to remain in place “for some time”. Dunmurry Lane is also closed in both directions as part of the same incident.
“Thank you for your continued patience while we deal with this incident,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
Road users are advised to take an alternative route.
Traffic remains particularly busy in the Lisburn area.
M1 ‘likely to be closed for some time’ after serious crash
Traffic is currently being diverted off at Blacks Road (Junction 3) and Saintfield Road (Junction 6).
According to the PSNI, the closure is likely to remain in place “for some time”. Dunmurry Lane is also closed in both directions as part of the same incident.
Road users are advised to take an alternative route.
Due to the current closure of the M1, traffic is particularly busy in the Lisburn area.
M3 update
M3 closures for essential works on Belfast’s Lagan Bridge
The work, which began last Friday, is scheduled to take place over five consecutive weekends, subject to favourable weather conditions.

This week, the M3 will be closed on the east-bound side, with no access from the M2, from 9pm today (Friday 26 July) until 6am on Monday 29 July.

- Hard closure points from Durham Street to Westlink on slip
When factored in with the ongoing works already in this area, significant impact on travel times into and out of the city centre is likely.
Road users are advised to expect delays and factor this into their travel plans for the duration of this closure.
