Coca-Cola was behind one of the most famous advertising campaigns in history in 1971 when it rewrote the lyrics to I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing to sell its signature soft drink.

Roll on 53 years, and it seems the multinational company and Jamie Dornan are in “perfect harmony” after the Co Down actor was signed up to be the face of Diet Coke, replacing supermodel Kate Moss.

It’s not new territory for Dornan, as he has fronted an ad for Guinness in the past.

According to a report in The Sun, the deal is worth “millions” to the 42-year-old.

Coca-Cola has a history of memorable ads to help market its wares — from Christmas trucks rolling across the snowy countryside to the ‘Diet Coke break’ that got female office workers all hot and bothered.

With the first advert rumoured to have been filmed at a lido in London, you can bet Jamie will be getting his shirt off, with his own six-pack on display.

No doubt Coca-Cola will be banking on many extra sales to help cool people down.
