North Down had eyes on the top of the Premier League table on Sunday morning, but two games later, they will go into the second half of the 2024 season in sixth place, 12 points behind the leaders.

Woodvale, with Aditya Adey top-scoring with 40, hit the front with an eight-run victory in the morning match at The Green, and when the Comber side travelled to Belfast for their second match of the day against Cliftonville Academy, they lost that as well, by 60 runs, allowing their opponents to leapfrog them and Lisburn into fourth place.

Waringstown and Muckamore will start the second half of the 2024 season – the top six play each other once – level on points in second and third place, four points behind the leaders, with Cliftonville Academy a further four points behind.

The bottom four will play each other twice, with CIYMS, League winners for three successive years from 2018, in the relegation spot, four points behind Carrickfergus and 2023 champions Instonians, while Civil Service missed out on the top six only on run rate. The post-split fixtures will be released on Monday.
