Four people remain in police custody after being arrested over a fight in a north Belfast flat in which weapons may have been used and two men were injured.

The Belfast Telegraph understands a knife was used in the incident in the Cliftonville Road area on Saturday evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 6pm.

“The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 6.06pm following reports of an incident in the Cliftonville Road area of Belfast,” a spokesperson confirmed.

“NIAS despatched two rapid response paramedics, one advanced paramedic and two emergency crews to the incident.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients were taken to RVH.”

A PSNI spokesperson said an investigation was underway.

“Around 5.50pm, it was reported that a fight was ongoing in a flat in the Cliftonville Road area. Weapons may have been used in the assault,” they said.

“Two men were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment.

“Four men – two aged 26 and two aged 34 – were arrested and remain in police custody at this time.”
