Former Head of Religion at the BBC, Aaqil Ahmed, says the broadcaster is “aware” of issues with the licence fee after its annual report revealed half a million households cancelled their payments last year.
He said it reflects struggles across the broadcasting parameter, with the BBC among many companies struggling with the rise of digital services.
