Police have been granted an extension to question two people arrested as part of a sudden death investigation in south Belfast.

They now have an additional 36 hours to carry out questioning of the man and woman after a body was found in a property on Donegall Avenue on Saturday during searches for a missing person.

In a statement, police said: “Police have this morning (22 July) been granted a 36-hour extension to question a man and woman arrested in connection with an investigation into a sudden death in the Donegall Avenue area of Belfast on Saturday July 20.”
