The tennis tournament may be over but the notion of ‘Wimbledon whites’ is not going anywhere any time soon. White dresses are very much the summer staple of 2024, and Frankie Bridge has found a ‘super flattering’ option that’s now on sale.

The mum-of-two recently rounded up some of her current go-to pieces in her warm weather workwear wardrobe as part of her weekly Frankie’s Faves series on Instagram. From chic tailoring to sleeveless styles, there was a real mix of looks to suit all tastes, but it was a cotton midi number that quickly caught our eye.

The 35-year-old looked gorgeous in a Poplin Cotton Mix Midi Dress from contemporary fashion retailer, Whistles. Originally £139, the summer-ready dress has seen a recent price cut to £89, saving shoppers £50 on the RRP.

The dress is made from breathable cotton, which is a popular choice as it’s one of the coolest fabrics to wear in summer. It boasts a fitted bodice before reaching a fuller skirt, which falls at a midi length making it easy to wear with heels, sandals or trainers. Plus, it’s sleeveless, making it a summer essential.

Speaking on the dress, Frankie said: “ Throw on summer dress but make it SUPER flattering. If you are curvier on the hip area like I am then this style is perfect for our shape. I’ve layered with a denim jacket in case the temperature drops again and accessorised with the shoe of the summer… the mesh ballet pump.”

However, the dress only comes in one length, and seeing as Frankie is a petite 5’3”, it could come up short on taller shoppers.

This particular style of dress is incredibly popular right now, with plenty of high street retailers offering similar styles – but they’re all equally as in demand. This Pure Cotton Midi Cami Shift Dress at Marks and Spencer costs £39.50, but is only available in limited sizes, however, if you love the cut but not the colour, it’s also available in orange.

Elsewhere, River Island’s White Hybrid Skater Midi Dress comes in at £35 and has the added benefit of pockets. This one also comes in black, brown, cream and stone.

For those with a higher budget, we love the high end feel to ‘It Girl’ brand Reformation’s Mikol Knit Dress, which is priced at £198. While Gap is offering this Linen Blend Square Neck Midi Dress for £65.

Other white dresses in different silhouettes we’ve spotted recently include Molly-Mae Hague’s sleek maxi shirt dress, from Odd Muse, which she wore to Wimbledon, or Amanda Holden s Ellis Crinkle Ruffle Jersey Dress from Pretty Lavish, worn for one of her Heart FM shifts last month.

But this isn’t the first time Frankie has had fans scrambling to get their hands on a white dress. Last month, the Loose Women panellist wore the Alora Zip Dress from French Connection, which comes in a white linen shade, as well as coral and black. The dress features long elasticated puff sleeves, and can be worn in more of a smock style, or tied at the waist for a more shapely silhouette. It’s now on sale for £43 at House of Fraser.

Alternatively, you can buy her most recent ensemble here from Whistles while it’s on offer for less than £90.
