It’s the final Major of the year as the world’s best golfers bid for the Open Championship at Royal Troon.
You can follow all the action right here over the next few days.
Irish in action:
Shane Lowry -3 (16)
Pádraig Harrington +4 (72)
Tom McKibbin +12 (74)
Darren Clarke +15 (75)
He’s having a great day on the par-3s and Lowry has managed to pull out a fabulous birdie putt on 17.
Back on four-under – four shots off the lead – with just one hole left to play. The best he can hope for is a birdie finish.
The world number three sticks in another birdie on 14 and he’s opened up a two-shot lead on eight-under.
Playing the par-5 16th, Shane Lowry hits a solid third shot but then looks to the sky as his putt for birdie rolls past the hole. It’ll be another par.

The 15th sees Shane leave himself with a difficult putt to birdie and it comes up a little short. With three holes to play, he’s four shots back.
Thriston Lawrence has just bogeyed the 12th, so it’s Xander Schauffele with his neck in front. Justin Rose sits directly behind Lawerence on five-under.
Schauffele sinks an excellent birdie putt on 13 to take a share of the lead with Lawrence.
Our new leader.

Not the tee shot he was hoping for as Lowry has found the bottom of the bunker on the par-3 14th.
However, he gets up and down and then putts for a three to keep his chances alive. He will need to produce a few birdies before the end though.
It’s a par for Scott as well.
With his approach on the par-4 13th, Lowry leaves it right on the edge of the green. It’s a long putt, which he gives a good go before tapping in for par. Scott has a handy putt to stay on level-par.
Elsewhere, Xander Schauffele holes a birdie on 11 and he is now alongside Justin Rose on six-under, one behind Thriston Lawrence.
Meanwhile, Calum Scott has won claimed the Silver Medal as the leading amateur.
A fine performance from the Scot, who finishes on eight-over.

After two birdies and three bogeys, he’s currently tied for 23rd position.
Oh dear, it’s a bogey for Shane, who misses his left-to-right putt.
With Thriston Lawrence going out in front on his own on seven-under, the Offaly man is now four back with seven hole remaining.
Is this slipping away from him?
He follows that up by leaving his ball around six foot from the pin.
His shot finds the rough and it will take a big effort to rescue this hole.
He has had to wait an age for this birdie putt, and then pulls it just short so that will be a solid par.
It’s a double bogey for Scott, who is now one-over.
He lands that shot on the green and will be putting for bogey.
And Thriston Lawrence has joined Billy Horschel and Justin Rose for a share of the lead thanks to a birdie on the seventh.
Scott’s approach flies in the direction of the crowd and appears to hit a spectator on the head. The Australian goes to see if the fan is alright, and also to find his ball.
This is likely to hold these two up for a few minutes at least.
I should let you know that Justin Rose has joined Billy Horschel on six-under after putting for birdie on the eighth.
After a slow start, it has been an excellent front nine for the Irishman with four birdies, four pars and a bogey.
Scott also pars and he stays on one-under.
Meanwhile, Billy Horschel has birdied the sixth to go out on his own on six-under.
The 2024 PGA Championship winner has moved to within one shot of the lead, as has Scottie Scheffler, who has just holed back-to-back birdies. Russell Henley is also in that chasing group, along with Lowry.
Next up is the Postage Stamp, just 123 yards long.
The tee shots give the pair great opportunities to birdie, and Lowry sends the putt right of the hole but it turns right on cue to drop in. He’s on four-under, one off the leaders.
It’s more of the same from Scott, however, who misses the birdie putt and settles for another par.

It’s the easiest of putts and a third birdie of the day leaves Shane on three-under. He seems to be finding his groove. Scott pars again.
