Toronto’s Deputy Mayor thinks it’s nifty that Swifty is coming to play our city for six nights in November.

So much so that Jennifer McKelvie has submitted the motion, Welcome to Toronto Taylor Swift, to City Council to approve designating the route from the Rogers Centre to Nathan Phillips Square as “Taylor Swift Way” (along John St. and Queen St. W.) for the month of November.

If approved, honorary signs will be displayed along the route, as well as an honorary sign to mark the concert venue as “1 Taylor Swift Way.”

The Toronto sign will also be lit red on the Eras Tour concert dates of Nov. 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23 at Rogers Centre.

All honorary “Taylor Swift Way” signs will be donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank and auctioned off in support of the organization.

The motion will be considered by City Council on July 25.

“It’s our way to show Taylor she’s the 1 we’ve been waiting for, that she has brought us much happiness and that we will love her evermore,” said Deputy Mayor McKelvie in a statement that makes use of some of Swift’s songs.
