Bristol Airport has been revealed as one of the best in the UK to park your car in. According to new research, 82% of the car parks were rated four stars or higher, making it the third best airport in the UK to leave your car in.

Bristol has the highest average rating out of all the car parks, but two of its car parks were rated less than four stars. The data comes after motoring experts analysed the number of car parks available to airport passengers, the average car park rating, and the percentage of car parks rated four stars or above to reveal the UK airports with the best (and worst) car parks.

Blackcircles found that East Midlands Airport has the highest-rated car parks in the UK. With an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 on Google and 100% of the car parks being rated four stars or above, drivers can be assured that their vehicles will be safe while they’re enjoying their holiday.

London City Airport is in second place. The airport, which saw 3,429,684 passengers in 2023, has an average car park rating of 4.2 out of five, meaning it just misses out on the top spot. Bristol Airport rounds out the top three.

Nyo Logan, tyre content manager at Blackcircles, said: “Going on holiday should be a relaxing time, and drivers should not have to worry about the condition their car will be in when they arrive back in the UK. If you plan to leave your car at an airport car park, it is recommended that you check recent reviews of the car park and ensure that it is a trustworthy and safe place.

“If you arrive back to a damaged car, you should contact your insurance provider and ask the car park staff for any available CCTV. It is also advised to take photos of your vehicle and the surrounding area before you leave your car, as well as on your return.

“Note the time, date, and any relevant details about the car park conditions. If you suspect a crime such as vandalism or theft, you should report this to the police. You may be able to make a premises liability claim, so it is recommended that drivers consult with a solicitor.”

The research also found that Birmingham Airport has the worst-rated car parks in the UK, with an average rating of 3.4 out of five. Of the 17 car parks available, only 12% were rated four stars or higher.
