Fitbits are incredibly handy gadgets for keeping track of fitness and health, however for homeworkers they can be ‘life-changing’. It can be challenging for people who work from home to keep active, with it only requiring a dozen or so steps to reach their desk where they’ll likely remain for hours without moving.

Homeworkers are full of praise for the Google Fitbit Inspire 3, as it encourages them to ‘get up and walk’ by sending movement reminders. Amazon is currently offering a 29% discount on the gadget, bringing the price down from £84.99 to £59.99. This is the cheapest price around, with both Boots and Very selling it for £69.

The fitness tracker is available in black, lilac and yellow and is compatible with both iOS and Android phones. The Fitbit offers up to 10 days battery life, is water-resistant up to 50 metres and can track over 20 exercises.

As well as exercise, the gadget offers wellness, health and sleep tracking, such as 24/7 heart rate, stress management, mindfulness and breathing sessions, menstrual tracking and more. The Fitbit also keeps you connected to friends and family, as you can receive notifications for calls, texts and from apps.

Included with the purchase of the gadget is a six-month Premium membership for ‘deeper insights and guidance and exclusive workouts, mindfulness sessions and more’. The Google Fitbit Inspire 3 is an Amazon’s Choice product; a highly rated, well-priced item available to ship immediately.

Nearly 4,000 customers have reviewed the device to date, with it earning an average rating of 4.4 out of five. One thrilled buyer said: “I work from home and I’m probably not as active as I should be, so the step counter does make me get up and walk around the house and garden when I take breaks.

“My favourite thing is the sleep tracking, as it’s always intrigued me. It tells you how long you were in deep, light and REM sleep as well as when you woke up in the night. It’s so light on your wrist that I don’t really even notice it and it didn’t disrupt my sleep either which I thought it might. “

However, they did go on to highlight a downside: “The only issue I had was that I had to file down some sharp parts on the buckle which were scratching my skin. I’d definitely recommend this though if you’re looking to get fit and be aware of your health etc.”

A second impressed buyer wrote: “I never thought I’d be one of those people to buy a Fitbit, but on a whim I did and I love it. Honestly the best thing I’ve bought this year. It tells me everything I need to know and has really motivated me on my staying fit journey. I’m more aware of when I’m not moving especially in these times where everyone office based now works from home.

“I also got 6 months premium free, which was amazing. I’ve been really using the features such as the free workouts. Don’t even think about it and just buy one. They’re actually life-changing.”

Unfortunately one Amazon customer was left disappointed with the Fitbit Inspire 3, as they explained: “We returned it when it wouldn’t record sleep properly and were promptly issued with a replacement. This still doesn’t work and is very hit and miss with recording sleep – more times than not it doesn’t record it properly and misses large parts of the night.”

However, someone else was left delighted, as they commented: “Very impressed with this little device… Easy to set up, the charge lasts and you can customise depending on what you want to track (I.e. can link in glucose levels or body temp)… I love the reminders to move hourly, making getting my steps in easier. Whilst the sleep tracker I would say is indicative, it still gives great insights and is useful.”

You can buy the Google Fitbit Inspire 3 from Amazon here for £59.99 while the deal is live. Alternatively, H Samuel is currently offering the Garmin Venu 2 Black Smartwatch on sale for £199, down from £349.99. Unlike the Fitbit, this tracker also has a GPS, as well as the usual health monitoring and fitness features.

If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly tracker, Decathlon’s Multisport HRM smart watch costs £34.99. It has an inbuilt heart rate monitor which can measure the intensity of your sporting activities, your daily routine and your sleep.
