Derek Lyng’s team line out as follows with a rake of changes from the side that lost to Tipperary. Shane Murphy and Richie Reid come into the half-back line, while Cian Kenny drops into midfield. John Donnelly returns to captain the side from half-forward alongside new man in Fionan Mackessy:

LIMERICK TEAM NEWS:
Two late changes to the line-up as Tom Morrissey and Ethan Hurley start over Gearoid Hegarty and Barry Muprhy.

John Kiely has named a strong side with two changes from the side that saw off Galway last week. David Reidy and Seamus Flanagan replace Kyle Hayes and Aaron Gillane. Reidy fills in at centre-forward while captain Cian Lynch drops into midfield. William O’Donoghue assumes Hayes’ vacant centre-back slot:

Good afternoon and welcome to another Independent.ie live blog as the National Football and Hurling Leagues swing around again. My name is Ultán Corcoran, and I will be keeping you up to speed with events around the country. 

We will have updates from all 11 fixtures around the country with particular focus on the three televised games starting with Kilkenny versus Limerick on TG4 from 3.30pm. This is followed by Kerry-Armagh at 5.30pm on RTE Two. Our evening will conclude with the meeting of Dublin and Galway at 7.30pm as we cross over to TG4 again.
