TV personality Gemma Collins experienced zero good luck at the Cheltenham Festival, admitting she lost “an absolute fortune” after backing the wrong horses.

The star from ‘The Only Way Is Essex‘ graced the renowned event for the first time this week, rubbing shoulders with other high-profile attendees including celebrities and royals.

Spotted alongside actor and presenter Danny Dyer, 47, Gemma, 44, was seen getting into the spirit of things at the racecourse on March 13.

Despite her enthusiasm, she later disclosed to ITV Racing that her betting endeavours had not paid off, winning nothing .

Nevertheless, Gemma remained upbeat about her day, describing it as “a great day” despite the lack of betting success.

Speaking to ITV, she confessed to losing an “absolute fortune” but insisted the experience was “amazing”.

During her chat with ITV, Gemma explained: “I’ve never been to Cheltenham before and Paddy, the owner of Paddy Power, invited me so I couldn’t turn him down. Obviously I love the Irish and the Irish love me.”

She also shared her unique approach to placing bets, saying: “If I hear a name or see a name and get a vibe about it, then I will take a punt and put a bet on.”

Gemma further commented on the aspect of gambling at such events, stating: “I think gambling at the races can be so much fun. Safe gambling, obviously – gambling awareness.

“It (betting) is not just for men – women can come to these places and have a great day. It’s not all about the men!”

Gemma Collins made a stylish entrance at the Cheltenham Festival, donning a pale blue ensemble for her first appearance. Her outfit consisted of a matching top and trousers, complemented by a coordinated cape, fascinator, and hair bow, reports Gloucestershire Live.
