Si King made a heartfelt revelation about his best mate and fellow Hairy Biker, Dave Myers, and their shared career, stating, “It’s the last of the Hairy Bikers.”
On the Good Morning Britain episode aired on Friday (March 14), Si joined presenters Kate Garraway and Rob Rinder to discuss his latest work with Dave.
The dynamic duo, known as the Hairy Bikers, has produced an array of TV series and books over the years. Si recently finished what is to be their final book, The Best of the Hairy Bikers.
In a touching segment on GMB, Si confessed, “It’s the last of Hairy Bikers publishing book because Dave is no longer with us.”
He elaborated: “I was saying yesterday that it’s interesting when you’re putting a book together because food is comfort, and grief is a very interesting emotion. It’s as individual as the person who feels it,” reports the Manchester Evening News.

“It was a very tough book to put together, I have to say, because the team and I have been working together for 20 years, so it was a wonderful experience. We’ve all had a few tears and laughs about what Dave would think of this, it was a lovely process.”
Moved by Si’s admission, Kate shared her own experiences with grief following the death of her husband, Derek Draper, last year.
Kate reflected on the show: “Grief isn’t linear, is it? We talk a lot, don’t we, about the stages of grief, and you go back and forth with it. I find often one of the triggers because Dave sadly passed away not long after my husband.”
During a heartfelt conversation, Si spoke about how certain sensory experiences can evoke memories of his late best friend, Dave.

He confessed to Kate: “You know Kate, I’ve often said just because Dave’s passed doesn’t necessarily mean he stops being my best friend.”
Reflecting on their numerous television programmes together, Si continued: “I think we just wanted people to get back into the kitchen and give it a go because the world has put so much pressure on families, and everyone was trying to do everything.”
He further explained their culinary philosophy: “What we were saying is that if we can do it in the middle of a ditch, then you guys can do it in a fitted kitchen at home.”
