Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes decided to stand pat at last Friday’s NHL trade deadline. It was the first time since 2013 the Canadiens did nothing on trade deadline day.

Did Hughes do the right thing?

That’s the main question answered on this week’s Hockey Inside/Out Show as The Gazette’s Stu Cowan is joined by former Canadiens teammates and 1986 Stanley Cup champions Chris Nilan and Rick Green.

The panel also weighs in on the Canadiens’ chances of making the playoffs after a big 4-2 win over the Canucks Tuesday night in Vancouver that moved them within two points of a wild-card playoff spot and how the Habs will try to fill the No. 2 centre spot for the rest of the year after a season-ending knee injury to Kirby Dach.

Nilan and Green also talk about the difficulties of West Coast road trips for players with the time change and share some stories from their days together on the road.
