A lifestyle guru has gone viral after seemingly ‘teaching’ people how to have a proper shower and people are blown away.

Lifestyle influencer Kaye Marie Mitchell has taken the internet by storm with her revolutionary ‘everything shower’ routine, which she describes as “life-changing”. Her unique approach to showering has left viewers worldwide questioning their own habits.

In a TikTok video, she quipped: “If you’re not just a little bit dizzy after your everything shower, are you even doing it right?”

Dressed in a robe with her hair wrapped in a towel, she sipped water and declared: “I’ve quite possibly just had the best everything shower of my whole entire life, and I will share it with you.”

If you want to try Kaye’s shower routine, which she deemed ‘life-changing’, then just follow these simple steps.

1. Dry brush your body

The first step in her routine involves using a dry brush. She explained: “This is a dry brush, it has changed my life. I’ve only been using it for around about a month, and I’m obsessed.”

She explained that she uses it primarily for skin health, aiming for shiny, smooth skin, and credits the brush for significant improvements in her skin’s complexion.

2. Soak in a bath

Next, she indulges in a soak and scrub session in the bath, making sure not to use any bath products.

“Step two, I jumped into a clear bath, nothing in it,” she said, revealing that she soaked for 15 minutes before using a kessa hammam to exfoliate her body from neck to toes, excluding the face.

A kessa hammam is a traditional exfoliating glove commonly used in Moroccan hammams and bathhouses. Its coarse, textured fabric effectively removes dead skin cells, dirt, and impurities.

3. Use an anti-bacterial soap

The third step in her routine is washing with soap. Kaye continued her routine by promoting the use of “a product sent by the gods” – Dettol soap.

“This is gonna leave you feeling so squeaky clean. This is a pre-cleanse, you wanna get rid of all the dirt, all the nasties from outside. This is it,” she explained.

She then suggested utilizing an African net for soap application, assuring that it would be a “life-changer” due to its supposed superiority in hygiene over traditional loofahs.

“You’re gonna lather everywhere, from your neck to your toes,” Kaye instructed. “This [African net] is quite a big one, it can even get your back.”

4. Scrub and shave (optional)

The fourth step, scrubbing one’s body, is optional according to Kaye, who admitted she doesn’t do it regularly. However, she demonstrated the process using a body scrub.

“So I went in with a body scrub,” she said. “I’m clean. At this point, you’re more than likely would shave as well. However, I’m not a shaving girl, I can’t give any tips on that.”

5. Wash with body wash

The fifth step involves washing one’s body with a body wash, for which Kaye chose a vanilla-scented option. This helps remove any remaining dead skin while leaving a you smelling nice and clean.

6. Moisturise your body

Finally, Kaye emphasised the importance of moisturizing after showering, using both a body lotion and a body oil to replenish her skin’s moisture. “This [Aveeno body oil] is my ride or die, I will never stop using this,” she enthused.

“Same with my Nivea moisturiser. This just leaves you glowing like a goddess, super hydrated. A lot of people do oil then moisturiser, but I just prefer moisturiser then oil. It locks it all in.”

7. Skincare and night prep

For the final touch in her skincare regime, Kaye revealed she would be using an LED face mask followed by a hydrating face mask to wear overnight.

“And I’m gonna whiten my teeth,” she added, indicating her choice of whitening strips. Following the reveal of her routine, Kaye has received accolades from viewers who feel they’ve learned the correct way to shower from her.

One viewer expressed their appreciation on the video: “You should do different episodes of ‘here are things you should know if your parents where to busy to teach you’ xx”.

Another praised the invigorating finish of her routine: “And a banging cold water to finish 10/10 xx”, while someone else acknowledged the impact of her method: “The African net x Dettol combo changed my life fr.”

Nicole, another viewer, was inspired to create a response video discussing Kaye’s approach, exclaiming: “How has it taken me 28 years to learn how to have a shower?!”.
