British Championship hopefuls Simon Reid and Scott Swann launched the SendMyBag Racing by IWR Honda team on Wednesday as they prepare for the first official tests next month.
Reid, whose father is double TT Formula Two world champion Brian, will ride in the National Superstock 1000 Championship while Swann is moving up in class to the British Superbike series for an eagerly awaited debut.
Last year, Reid was a podium finisher for the first time in the Superstock class while Swann won five races, finishing third overall in the Championship.
“It’s such an unbelievable opportunity to move up to the British Superbike class in 2025 and this moment, to race a Superbike, is something I have worked towards my whole life,” said Co Antrim prospect Swann, who also hails from a famous racing background, with his father Michael winning 12 Irish titles during a distinguished career.
“Last year I put a huge amount of effort into my racing and this year it will definitely go up another notch as that is what you have to do to be a Superbike rider, but I really believe I am ready to make the step up.
“We are going to be trying to get the best results we can and I can’t wait to get started.”
Reid is continuing with Ian Woollacott Racing for the second consecutive year in the Superstock class and feels ready to mount a serious challenge for the title on the Honda Fireblade.
“I have enjoyed racing with them last season more than ever and there is a great atmosphere in the team,” said Reid.
“The continuity of staying there, leading into this year, I feel will make us strong contenders and we are there to aim for podiums and challenge for the Championship. I can’t wait to ride the new 2025 bike as that should be a good step too and the season cannot come around quick enough.”
Reid has kept himself busy racing in Dubai over the winter months and leads the Middle East Championship with two rounds remaining.
Official BSB testing gets under way in April ahead of the first round of the championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire from May 3-5.
