Bradley Walsh was taken aback by an unexpected revelation from a contestant on The Chase. Four new players were prepared to challenge one of the UK’s top quiz masters.

Spencer, Ali, Susan and Jamahl were welcomed onto the popular ITV quiz show by the TV host.

Susan was the first to test her knowledge after amassing a commendable £6,000 in the Cash Builder round. She successfully returned to the team, contributing a “great start” to the prize fund.

Jamahl was next to face Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan, but his time on the show was sadly cut short when he was caught by The Chaser. However, it was Ali who left the ITV presenter astounded with her revelation about her leisure activities.

Bradley Walsh often engages in casual conversation with each contestant on The Chase, and during this chat, Ali disclosed that she is a nine-year cancer survivor. Bradley congratulated her as Ali went on to reveal that she has raised £73,000 for Macmillan, reports the Liverpool Echo.

She detailed how she had undertaken a wide array of daring fundraising challenges to overcome her fear of heights, including wing walking. Stunned by Ali’s courage, a disbelieving Bradley questioned the contestant, exclaiming: “You’ve not done wing walking, no you’ve not. I was never doing that.”

In admiration of Ali, he added: “That’s a great thing”, while The Vixen labelled her as “fearless.”

Following Ali’s disclosure, viewers took to social media, with one commenting: “What a hero, raising funds for charity.”

Another joined the conversation on X, saying: “Good on you girl.”

Following a triumphant round against The Chaser, Ali added £4,000 to the team’s total, bringing it up to £10,000. However, Spencer wasn’t as lucky and was caught by The Vixen, leaving the show with nothing.

In the final chase, Ali teamed up with Susan in an attempt to secure the cash prize. Despite their efforts, The Chaser managed to catch their score of 15 with just 19 seconds left on the clock.

The Chase is broadcasted on ITV1 at 5pm on weekdays
