Nadia Sawalha has issued an apology after admitting she covets something belonging to her Loose Women co-star, Christine Lampard.
In a recent episode of Loose Women—The Podcast, titled ‘Body confidence, loveless marriages and husband’s crushes,’ Nadia Sawalha chatted with fellow panellist Judi Love.
In one segment, Judi read a message from a fan named Mary. She asked if Nadia had to marry one of her co-stars’ husbands, who would she choose, and why.
Once she issued a pre-emptive apology, Nadia gave a hilarious response that she is more envious of the ring given to Christine by her husband Frank Lampard.
She said: “I’m sorry. Maybe I shouldn’t say this. Okay, Christine Lampard’s ring is really, really nice and my ring is not. That ring. I mean, honestly…sometimes, it distracts me.”
Her co-star weighed in: “Babes, I can’t, like…it does get me and Frankie’s, yeah.” Nadia replied: “So, what is the name of our husbands again? But the ring…”
Judi added while giving Frank some praise: “The ring; the ring is the one. He is lovely, though.”
Frank and Christine married in 2015 after first meeting at the Pride of Britain Awards in 2009. They went on to have two children together, Patricia and Freddie, while Frank has two other daughters from a previous relationship.
However, the pair’s relationship had an “awkward” start. She revealed on Loose Women that he initially told her he watched her on The One Show, and could tell her who the previous night’s guest was.
“There was an awkward introduction at the party afterwards,” she added. “I just laughed and we both giggled about it. Then that was it. He somehow got my number, and I had a withheld number call my phone on the way home. I picked up and it was him.”
“I said ‘Wow, you’re keen!’ as a bit of a joke, and we chatted, and he said he enjoyed meeting me and would like to stay in touch. It was very relaxed.”
Meanwhile, Nadia married Mark Adderley back in 2002 while she was pregnant with their daughter, Maddie. In 2024, she opened up to Hello! about her husband’s fight with bipolar II disorder and depression.
“It breaks my heart when he tells me how sad he is because I adore him and it feels so unfair. But it’s also much better in the long run to know the truth,” Nadia said.
He shared insights on Instagram into his battle with alcohol abuse and his mental health struggles before getting sober. He shared a photo of himself with Maddie alongside the caption: “This was me at my most chaotic, out of control and sad.”
Nadia replied to her film producer husband, saying she was “so proud” of him. She added that he’s a “f***ing incredible husband and father” and that she would love him “now and beyond this mortal world.”
