Lorraine Kelly was left blushing after an unexpected slip of the tongue while visiting the Good Morning Britain studio.
While discussing her guest lineup with hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, the 64-year-old excitedly shared details about welcoming Poirot star David Suchet on Monday, March 10, when she accidentally used a banned term on live television.
Brimming with enthusiasm about Sir David Suchet’s appearance due to the launch of Agatha Christie’s novel, Lorraine accidentally remarked: “Sir David Suchet is coming in and i just wondered, you know what he makes…. and what Poirot would have made of (Towards) Zero the new Agatha Christie, it’s called Sh*****a Christie apparently.”
Susanna intervened with an astonishment, adding: “I beg your pardon,” clearly taken aback by the Scottish hosts choice of words, especially at that early hour.
Unaware of her misstep, a bewildered Lorraine asked: “Am I allowed to say that?” to which Ed responded: “No,” reports the Manchester Evening News.

Recovering quickly from the faux pas, the Scottish presenter quipped back: “Well I just have,” and then continued with an apology: “Anyway, I apologise for apologising and I’ll apologise again for myself.”
Lorraine tried to continue with her segment, noting of the new BBC drama: “Anyway, it’s raunchy, Agatha Christie is raunchy which I don’t really think that you need but we’ll find out what David thinks.”

With suspicion still lingering in the air, Susanna replied: “Ok” Amidst chuckles, the chat show host faced the camera, saying, “Sorry about that,” trying to laugh off her earlier mistake.
Ed attempted to lighten the atmosphere by telling her, “No, you’ve livened it up.” Despite this, Susanna couldn’t resist making a quip about the situation.

Susanna, with a grin, shared with viewers: “At the weekend Lorraine was asked what she’s really like in a newspaper interview and she said she’s ‘exactly like Lorraine but only more sweary’.”
With a twinkle in her eye, Susanna joked: “But you’ve decided to be a bit more raunchy on-air,” to which Lorraine countered: “But that’s not me, that was everybody that was saying that.”
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1, from 9am.
