Harry Potter and Doctor Who star Simon Fisher-Becker has died at the age of 63, his agent has confirmed.
The actor, known for his roles in the popular franchises, passed away on Sunday afternoon.
His death was announced by his agent Kathleen Barry of Jaffrey Management.
Fisher-Becker was perhaps best known for his role as the Fat Friar ghost in the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
He portrayed Hufflepuff House’s resident ghost in the first instalment of the popular wizarding franchise.
The character became one of his most recognisable roles despite its brief screen time.

Fisher-Becker later reprised the role of Dorium Maldovar for audio productions.

Barry extended condolences to Fisher-Becker’s husband Tony, his family and fans.

In a Facebook post, he wrote: “Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon’s husband. I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon Simon passed away.”
