Delays expected in Dundrum area

Police are advising road users to expect delays in the Dundrum area from around 10.20am this morning, Monday 10th March, particularly in the Main Street and Belfast Road areas of the village.

Please seek an alternative route, where possible, via Castlewellan.

If you are travelling from the direction of Clough, you can take the Castlewellan Road into Castlewellan, and then travel towards Newcastle. 

If you are travelling from the direction of Newcastle, you can take the Castlewellan Road towards Castlewellan, and then travel towards Clough/Downpatrick.

M2 crash

There has been a crash in lane 1 of the M2 north-bound, just before the Junction 4 Sandyknowes off-slip. Lanes 1 and 2 are currently blocked, but the incident is passable with care in lane 3.

Crash closes road in both directions

The Ballinderry Bridge Road in Coagh, Co Tyrone, has been closed in both directions due to a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
Road users are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route for their journey.

Incident at Coleraine bus station

An incident has occurred at Coleraine bus station. The Air Ambulance has been pictured at the scene. 
A Translink spokesperson said: “We can confirm an incident has occurred involving a car at Coleraine Bus & Rail Centre this morning.
“Emergency services were called to the scene and we are assisting the PSNI with their enquiries.
“Translink services are currently departing from the front of the station.”

Co Down road closed in both directions following crash

The Dublin Road in Kilcoo is closed in both direction due to a crash. Diversion are in place at the junction of Moneyscalp Road and Lackan Road and at Market Road. Drivers should avoid the area and seek an alternative route for their journey.

Large vehicles told the avoid Co Tyrone road

Large vehicles, including HGVs are advised to avoid the Cullion Road in Dungannon as police remain at the scene of the road traffic collision which occurred at the Coalisland Road on Tuesday 4th March. These vehicles are advised to use the Farlough Road at this time.

Co Armagh road to be closed for fatal crash investigation

The Sturgan Road outside Camlough will be closed for a number of hours this evening, Wednesday 5th March.
 Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit are due to carry out scene testing following a fatal collision in the area on 27th October 2023.
 A 16-year-old boy died in the single-vehicle collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf.
 Police will be conducting tests on the Newtown Road between the junctions at Mountain Road and Sturgan Brae from 8pm – 11pm.  The road will remain open, however there may be some delays in the area.
 Local access will be accommodated for people living in this area.

Another M2 crash

There has been a two-vehicle crash on the M2 city-bound between J1 Fortwilliam and J1B Duncrue Street. Lanes 1 and 2 of the four lanes are currently obstructed.

The Duncrue Street off-slip is still open and the incident is passable, but delays can be expected.

UPDATE: This crash has now been moved to the hard shoulder and is passable with care.

Long delays on M2 after crash

The M2 citybound is closed at junction 1 Fortwilliam due to a car fire. Motorists are being asked to leave M2 at Fotwilliam off-slip and rejoin M2 using the Fortwilliam on-slip. Delays are to be expected.

UPDATE: Police are now advising of long delays for Belfast bound traffic following a road traffic collision on the M2 motorway at Fortwilliam. Motorists are asked to seek alternative routes if possible.

Dromara crash

The Hillsborough Road in Dromara is currently closed in both directions between the Ballynahinch Road and the Begney Hill junction due to a road traffic collision. Police are advising drivers to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.

Westlink delays due to broken-down vehicle

There is a broken-down vehicle on the A12 Westlink at Clifton Street, in Lane 2 heading towards York Street.
