Lorraine Kelly was forced to deny she’d had ‘fillers’ on Thursday after her ‘swollen face’ left viewers concerned.

The ITV host, 65, appeared on Loose Women as a guest, where she revealed she had a black eye and that fans had been messaging in concerned about the injury.

Panellist Linda Robson pointed out: “You’ve got a bit of a shiner haven’t you” to which Lorraine confirmed: “I have! I will explain, yesterday, you know as women we try to do too many things at one time and we try to do it really fast?

“I had a massive bag of washing, a huge big washing basket, I couldn’t see and was going from the kitchen to the living room, where there’s a wee step, and my slippers are too big, I fell over and then I fell onto a rhino – as you do! I hit my face on it!

“I thought I’d be fine and I woke up this morning with the biggest shiner, this big black eye, I thought I won’t say anything, I won’t say anything and Helen, our fantastic make-up artist, has actually done a brilliant job! Hasn’t she done a great job?”

Asked if it was painful, Lorraine admitted: “It’s okay… it’s a wee tiny bit but I just feel a bit silly! Also, can I just say, somebody phoned in and said: ‘Have I had fillers’… no!

“A lot of people were very kindly, a lot of folks were saying: ‘Are you okay?’, ‘have you got an allergy?’ Our viewers are so lovely! They were like: ‘You should try this!'”

Explaining her black eye once and for all, Lorraine declared: “It’s not an allergy, it’s not fillers!”

It was a busy day for Lorraine as before her Loose Women interview, she hosted her own show Lorraine, which airs Monday to Friday at 9am on ITV.
