A Bristol coffee shop will be handing out free coffee when it opens its third site in the city this weekend. Burra, which already has venues on North Street and in Redland, will open the doors to its third cafe at 19, The Mall, in Clifton Village, on Saturday (March 8).

In a post to Instagram, the team wrote: “To celebrate our launch day in Clifton Village on Saturday, we’re giving away FREE coffee to every customer who visits between 8-12pm. If it’s anything like our free coffee morning at North Street, it’s going to be big.

“Come and say g’day. We’re excited to see you.”

BristolLive reported in February that the independent cafe brand, which was founded in 2021 by Bristol Bears players Jake Heenan and Luke Morahan, alongside their partners Adele and Madison, would be opening a further coffee shop in the highly sought after location.

Burra, which also used to boast a cafe venue on Gloucester Road, is known for promoting an ethical lifestyle and its Antipodean menu filled with organic and locally sourced produce. The dog friendly venues are now go-to foodie spots for many in the city, especially when it comes to their brunch offerings.

Jake told BristolLive last month: “We’re really trying to bring restaurant quality ingredients, restaurant quality products, and probably most importantly, restaurant quality service. As part of our list of principles, which are written on our blackboards, we’re trying to be a really positive force in the community and trying to bring not just a good product, but a really good feeling.

“We want people to feel like they’re coming into a home and feel really welcome and looked after. That’s what we’re trying to bottle up and give people. Our fifth principle of six is that we exist to serve the community and we’re really hoping we can now bring that to Clifton Village and do that for the people there.”

The new Burra can be found at 19, The Mall, Clifton, BS8 4JG, and will be open from 8am-4pm (Monday to Saturday) and 9am-4pm on Sundays.
