A man and a woman are sought following a week-long string of armed robberies in Scarborough and Don Mills last summer.
Toronto Police have now released images of a woman believed to be responsible for three of the holdups and a man, suspected of being involved in the fourth and final incident, hoping the public can help identify the pair.
The first robbery occurred in the area of Pharmacy Ave. and St. Clair Ave. E. around 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 14, 2024.
“A lone female suspect entered a store wearing a mask to disguise her identity,” Hold Up Squad Insp. Joseph Matys said in a statement released Wednesday. “She produced a knife and made demands for cash and vape products.”
He said the woman grabbed “a quantity of cash and vape products,” then took off.
Four days later, on Aug. 16, another robbery occurred near Progress Ave. and Markham Rd. around 11:25 p.m.
“A lone female suspect entered a store wearing a mask to disguise her identity,” Matys said, explain she produced a knife, demanded cash, then fled with the money and cigarettes.
On Aug. 20, around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to another robbery near Don Mills Rd. and Lawrence Ave. E.
“A lone female suspect entered a store wearing a mask to disguise her identity,” Matys said. “She indicated she was armed with a weapon and made a demand for cash.”
He said the woman left with “a quantity of cash.”
The next day, Aug. 21, officers responded to a “suspicious incident” in the area of Progress Ave. and Brimley Rd. around 12:45 p.m.
“A male and female suspect entered a store wearing masks to disguise their identities,” Matys said. “The male suspect indicated he was armed with a weapon and made a demand for cash.”
“The employee was able to escape to a secure room (and) the suspects fled the area empty-handed,” he added.
The woman is described as 20 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-5, with a medium build.
The man is described as 20 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-8, with a slim build.
The suspects are “considered dangerous” and members of the public who spot either of them are urged to call 911 immediately.
