Former world champion Rob Cross has claimed that Luke Littler and Luke Humphries “can’t win everything between them” despite acknowledging they are currently the best players in darts.
The pair have dominated the sport recently, with world number one Humphries winning two Premier League nights in Belfast and Exeter.
Teenage sensation Littler, the reigning world champion, is fresh from his sensational UK Open triumph on Sunday.
Cross will face Humphries in Night Five of the Premier League in Brighton on Thursday.

Cross believes that despite the dominance of the two Lukes, they remain beatable under pressure.
“That’s not saying that darts is sporadic every week. We’ve all got a threshold, including the two Lukes. If you put pressure on them, then maybe on certain days that you will get results,” he explained.
The former world champion praised Littler’s impact on the sport.
“He’s like a celebrity now, isn’t he? And for him doing all these great things, I think every dart player is going to benefit from it.”
Cross added that Littler’s popularity could bring more sponsorship to darts, calling it “brilliant for everyone involved”.
Cross has admitted to inconsistent form in the Premier League campaign so far.
“I’ve been a little bit up and down with form,” he said. “I’ve had some really great games and then I’ve had some sort of mediocre games.”
The Brighton Centre will host Thursday’s clash where Cross aims to secure his first nightly win of the season.

Humphries previously defeated Cross in the Exeter semi-final with three ton-plus checkouts.
“Going forward now, though, I’m just trying to get a grip of being consistent every week. If I can do that, I’ll be absolutely fine,” Cross added.
Cross did manage to overcome Michael van Gerwen in the Exeter quarter-finals.
