A man has been hospitalised after a reported slurry incident in Newry.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) responded to a report in the Green Road area of Newry at 12:27pm today.

Two appliances, from Newry Fire Station and Armagh Fire Station, attended the incident.

A NIFRS spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to reports of a man who collapsed.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 1 gas monitor and confirmed that all gas readings were normal.

“The man was left in the care of NIAS.”

NIFRS confirmed the incident was dealt with by 1.20pm.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service has been contacted.
