Katie Johnston might not have found lasting love on Married at First Sight with partner Tim Gromie, but the experience wasn’t all a waste.
The pair called it quits on the hit dating show last Sunday after Tim refused to move in with Katie in their Sydney home. The decision followed a heated dinner party where Tim faced criticism from fellow participants for his treatment towards his on-screen wife.
At their wedding, Tim’s apparent discomfort with Katie’s touch was noticeable, and he revealed to the production team that she wasn’t what he had hoped for. His hesitation only grew stronger, compelling Katie to go through the reality show journey solo.
Since parting ways with Tim six months ago after filming wrapped up, 37 year old Katie has been busy creating a free online course. Designed to help women recognise and deal with toxic characteristics in themselves and others, the course also provides strategies for enhancing self-assurance and self-worth.

“Most people don’t know that Katie has a degree in behavioural science and a major in psychology, and she’s incredibly passionate about using her experiences and self-discoveries to help other women,” an insider told Yahoo Lifestyle, reports OK!.
The reality star recently opened up about her newfound focus on personal growth and self-love since filming wrapped up last year. She has a rejuvenated perspective on life, with Tim’s rejection apparently acting as “the catalyst that pushed her to confront her issues and understand their origins”.

“I’ve gone on such a journey in my life. It’s taken me a long time to feel really good in my own skin, and I feel like this is just a good reinforcement of that,” she excitedly shared in a behind-the-scenes video from a photoshoot at Studio Republic, which was later released by Yahoo Lifestyle.
Though the reality star, brimming with new-found confidence, hasn’t found love yet, sources say she remains “open to finding her perfect match”. For the time being, however, she’s putting all her energy into “focusing on herself”.
Married at First Sight Australia season 12 airs Monday to Thursday at 9pm E4.
