Meghan, Duchess of Sussex delights her young ones with “surprise pancakes” at breakfast time. The 43-year-old former actress has divulged details of her Montecito lifestyle where she resides with her husband Prince Harry, 40, and their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

Meghan reveals that her mornings generally commence before her offspring stir, as she prepares a breakfast guaranteed to elicit joy and excitement. Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, she disclosed: “I’m up before my kids are, so I’m normally up at 6:30, and then I get them up and dressed for the day, and we go downstairs. I love making breakfast for my family.

“Their favourite is ‘surprise’ pancakes. They don’t know what’s going to be on the other side when it flips over.”

She also mentioned that the children have developed quite the taste for [toast with] jam and fresh fruit preserves, especially because they played a part in creating them during the times they were busy canning the season’s berry harvest.

While her children may lean towards the sweeter side of breakfast, Harry – son of Britain’s King Charles – prefers the hearty embrace of fried eggs and bacon to start his morning. She elaborated: “My husband and Archie both love fried eggs. There’s a lot of bacon around here. And then sometimes you don’t have time for all that, and you just put a frozen waffle in the toaster and call it a day. And there’s no shame in that either.”

Meghan also enjoys spending quality time with Archie away from home, cherishing “day dates” with her little lad.

She remarked: “Archie and I like to go and have lunch, share a burger and a Caesar salad, and have an ice cream sundae with two cherries on top.”

The ex-‘Suits’ actress has recently launched ‘With Love, Meghan’, her fresh eight-part Netflix series that captures her culinary skills, baking prowess, and floral arrangements as she hosts her pals.

Despite the lifestyle-oriented nature of her show, Meghan is keen to distance herself from the tag of “influencer”. She clarified: “I see myself as an entrepreneur and a female founder and if the brand ends up influential, then that’s great.”
