Queen’s University and Lurgan both continue their EYHL promotion push this weekend when they host southern opposition in the EYHL2.
The two Ulster sides have made strong starts and could take massive steps towards the knockout stages.
In Belfast, Simon Bell’s Queen’s play University of Galway as they look to continue their perfect start and make it three wins from as many games.
On Monday night, they made it consecutive victories in the group with a 1-0 win over Lurgan having already beaten Corinthian.
Prior to Monday, the side also sealed a 5-1 League win against Mossley on Saturday with goals from Zoe Wilson, Jodie Simmons, Jenna McCarlie and Ellie Montgomery (2).
The other game in the group sees Lurgan take on Cork side Ashton with a win for the Ulster outfit enough to see them move into second.
Despite their loss to Queen’s, Lurgan are still in a strong position in Pool B thanks to a 4-0 win against University of Galway on match day one.
Monday’s defeat also ended a run of consecutive wins, with Andy Brown’s side having won their last two League games against Lisnagarvey and Armagh with Lydia McNeill scoring crucial goals in both ties.
They now face an Ashton side who are second from bottom in the group having picked up one draw and a loss from their opening two games.
In the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League, Belfast Harlequins continue their push for EYHL2 qualification as they host Armagh at Deramore Park.
Quins come into the weekend in the final qualification spot having hit a fine run of form in recent weeks.
The Belfast club have won four of their last five in the division while top scorer Alyssa Jebb has netted five goals in her last two outings.
Armagh are in eighth place having failed to register a League win in their last nine outings.
Elsewhere, relegation-threatened Ballymoney travel to face seventh-placed Omagh. The visitors occupy the relegation Play-Off spot but are just one point behind Armagh as they enter their final three games.
They come into the weekend on a run of four consecutive defeats against the top three sides but there is reason for optimism with Koren Ferguson having netted in her last two appearances.
