Dumbstruck is not a word you might associate with Public Enemy’s Chuck D, but there have been occasions. Like at a New Year’s Eve party, in Mike Tyson’s kitchen in Las Vegas, when the boxer, standing by his fridge, urged him: “Say something to Stevie”. Chuck recalls: “I couldn’t muster a word. I sat there mute as a MF at that kitchen table.” The presence of Stevie Wonder had rendered one of America’s most powerful voices speechless.
