A 46-year-old Toronto man is wanted for attempted murder and firearm offences following a shooting in North York on New Year’s Day.
Toronto Police said officers responded to a call for a shooting in the Weston and Albion Rds. area on Jan. 1 at about 9:05 p.m.
Police allege that the suspect was carrying a firearm and approached the victim before firing multiple rounds at the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.
Cops said the victim, a 38-year-old man, sustained several gunshot wounds and was transported to hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries.
Following an investigation, police say they were able to identify a suspect.
Matthew Scott is wanted for attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a loaded firearm, and three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to an order.
Investigators say Scott is 6-foot-2, 230 pounds with black/grey short receding hair and wears eyeglasses.
