WhatsApp users are reporting numerous issues that they cannot use the app with many people unable to send or receive messages.
According to Down Detector, the problems started at around 3:11pm today, February 28, and are affecting WhatsApp users across the UK. At this time, reports of issues spike significantly with almost 6,000 people logging their experience.

Currently, the most reported issues are sending messages (56%), server connection (32%) and app issues (12%).
Many users posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, to see if it was them – or a wider issue. One posted: “How many people have now come to X to see if WhatsApp is down?.”
Another said: “Stop toggling your Airplane mode on/off. Stop refreshing your WhatsApp. It’s not your network, WhatsApp is down.”
This is breaking. We will update this page as we know more information.
