TV favourite Josie Gibson was presenting This Morning on crutches today after suffering a ‘nightmare’ injury while on holiday. The presenter made her entrance on crutches, sporting a medical boot on one foot, and shared her misfortune after a bathroom cabinet fell and injured her while she was with her son Reggie in Dubai.

“It was the second day of the holiday, I have always wanted to take my little one to Dubai. I was brushing my teeth when the vanity unit came down on my foot,” Josie told viewers, prompting a shocked reaction from co-host Alison Hammond. To ensure Josie’s comfort, Alison with humour revealed that the This Morning crew had presented her with a unique gift – a customised mobility scooter complete with gold trim, shiny side panels, and personalised with a ‘Gibson’ number plate.

Josie, 40, earlier in the week hinted at health concerns on social media, after rushing to hospital for an unspecified issue. It seems likely that it was her foot injury she referred to, as she explained to Alison that while initially diagnosed with a fracture in Dubai, a follow-up visit to a UK doctor suggested it was actually soft tissue damage.

She posted an image pointing out the direction to the Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinics along with the Trauma Assessment Unit visible on the hospital wall, captioning it: “You couldn’t even make it up”. Adding a musical touch, the sound of Mazzy Star’s ‘Cry Cry’ played in the background of Josie’s post, reports the Mirror.

Josie, known for her new travel series ‘The First Class Travel Show’, recently took off to Dubai. She indulged in the opulence of Anantara at the Palm, featuring private infinity pools and its own beach.

During an interview, she discussed her plans to revisit with her six-year-old son Reggie. “I think he would quite like Dubai because it’s geared up for kids,” she observed, also mentioning the villa she stayed in, “I was in a villa on the water with a glass floor, so you can look down at the sea while you’re having your breakfast.”

Her travel series whisked her away to lavish locations across Scandinavia, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. However, after a parade of luxurious stays and perpetual celebrations, she expressed a desire for a simpler pleasure: “I don’t want to see another glass of champagne for as long as I live.

“I know this is going to sound so bad, but there was so much luxury that I just wanted a glass of water,” she confessed. “There was champagne everywhere. I’m one of these people because I didn’t grow up with it, I’ve got to have it. You make the most out of everything. If there are any freebies to take, I am taking them. Any drinks to be had or food to be tried I am trying it all. First World problems, but I am totally champagned out!”
