Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has come to the defence of Taylor Swift after she was booed during the 2025 Super Bowl.
Reid praised the pop star for her handling of the incident, describing her as “a good girl” who manages difficult situations appropriately.
The coach’s comments came during an appearance on NBC’s ProFootballTalk where he addressed the moment Swift faced jeers from sections of the stadium crowd.
Reid emphasised that Swift has become “part of the team” since her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce began.

“She’s a good girl, she handles that whole thing the right way, that’s a tough deal,” Reid said during his ProFootballTalk appearance.
“But she does a great job of handling it. Kelce, I think, does a great job of handling it. She’s part of the team.”
The coach’s supportive comments highlight his appreciation for how Swift has navigated the spotlight whilst dating one of his star players.
The booing incident occurred when the Super Bowl Jumbotron showed Swift seated alongside her friend and collaborator, Ice Spice.

A chorus of boos erupted from sections of the stadium, believed to be from Philadelphia Eagles fans.
Swift responded with remarkable composure, giving a side-eye, a wince, and then a smile.
She was seen saying “What’s going on?” before turning her attention back to the game.

Despite the unexpected negative reaction, Swift appeared to brush off the moment with grace.
Reid also shared advice he gave to Kelce amid retirement rumours, saying: “Don’t think about all that. Just relax, man. Chill down, we have time for that.”
Kelce himself has since confirmed he has no plans to retire.
