Manchester United players are reportedly frustrated with Ruben Amorim after the 40-year-old appeared to blame them for the job cuts being made behind the scenes.

The club have announced that up to 200 members of stafff are set to be cut loose as they continue to streamline their operations under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Speaking recently, Amorim claimed that his United players ‘live in a bubble’ – and therefore ‘don’t feel too much pressure’ despite people losing their jobs.

He also claimed that underwhelming performances on the field had contributed to the decision to make people redundant.

Yet a source has told The Sun that United players are unhappy with Amorim and the 40-year-old’s blunt remarks.

“If you went into Carrington you would think the players and Amorim are getting on great,” they said.

“But the truth is the players are frustrated for being blamed for the financial problems of the club.

“However they haven’t challenged the manager as they haven’t yet formed a bond with him.

“He is clear in what he wants from them on the pitch, and they are trying to implement it.

“But while some of them are fully behind his tactics, they feel that they cannot speak up as Amorim is steadfast in what he wants.

“They are doing what they are told, whether they think its right or not…the players feel like they can’t show any displeasure or it will become a problem.”

Amorim hasn’t been afraid to make tough calls at United since taking over from Erik ten Hag back in November.

Amorim has also had some issues with Alejandro Garnacho, who stormed down the tunnel on Wednesday night following the Red Devils’ 3-2 victory over Ipswich.

Meanwhile, speaking after United’s win over the Tractor Boys, Bruno Fernandes opened up on Amorim.

And he insists that the players are behind the manager, despite results not always living up to expectations.

“We have so many staff – not only the ones who came with him but the ones who were already here.

“We have great people behind the team to work on that, so if they do that in the right way, we just have to come on the pitch and show it.
