This Morning star Josie Gibson had a heartbreaking confession as discussed a “problem” she had in relationships.

The 40-year-old rose to fame winning Big Brother in 2010, where viewers saw her relationship with fellow contestant John James Parton blossom. The pair moved in together after the show but split shortly after.

Josie was later engaged to plumber Luke Sanwo in 2012 but the pair split, exchanging a brutal series of social media posts. This Morning star Josie had appeared to find love with Terry Bond, the father of her son Reggie, but the pair split just five months after the youngster was born.

Josie has previously revealed Terry kicked her out of their shared home following an explosive row about his OCD on New Year’s Eve in 2018. In her 2014 book, The Josie Gibson Diet: Love Food, Get Slim, Stay Slim, the star had a candid assessment of two of her earliest relationships.

She wrote: “From my first bloke Kevin to John James on Big Brother, all I ever wanted was someone who’d be proud of being my man. Someone who thought I was worth showing off because they loved me.

“And I never felt that way with either of them if I’m totally honest, but the problem was probably with me. When I was overweight, I could barely stand to see myself naked, never mind anyone else copping an eyeful. The thought of having sex when you’re a size 18 or 20 is about as nerve wracking as it gets.”

Josie left fans stunned in 2013 when she lost a staggering 6st in 2013, dropping from a size 20 to a size 12. Josie’s weight loss strategy involved meticulous planning, including rigorous workout routines and a strict diet.

The star says she realised she had been hooked on sweet foods for the best part of two decades, prompting her to cut sugar from her diet. Josie also decided to only eat during an eight-hour window in the day, known as intermittent fasting.

During a 2024 interview, she said: “The way you eat your meals is very important. I eat my meals within an eight-hour period. So I’d wake up in the morning and have my breakfast about 8 or 9am, then I’d have my lunch at midday, 1pm, and then I’d have my tea at 4pm, so it was all digested in an eight-hour period, which gives me 16 hours then to metabolise and digest my food properly.”

Josie also likes to maintain a rigorous exercise routine. She makes sure she does at least 30 minutes of exercise each day.

She said: “The hardest thing about a workout is thinking about doing it. Most of the time when I’ve just cracked on with it, I didn’t have time to think about it and talk myself out of it. Plus, when I finish a workout I’ve felt so proud of myself and so happy with myself.

“I love that strong feeling that you get when you’re getting fit and healthy again. So make time for that half an hour a day, you won’t regret it.”

In December Josie revealed she is still single, admitting it “wouldn’t be fair” to find a new partner while she juggles a six-year-old child and a busy career. She said: “My time is split between my career and my son, where would anyone fit in?”

Josie will star in Around the World in First Class at 8pm on Channel 5 tonight. She will head to Dubai to stay in an overwater villa before heading to the Arabian Desert for a night in the exclusive Al Maha resort.
