Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway had to jump in with a swift intervention just moments into the live show. On the Friday (February 28) broadcast of ITV’s popular morning programme, Kate, 57, alongside her fellow presenter Adil Ray, 50, were all set to deliver the day’s headline news.

Yet, immediately after starting, viewers were quick to spot something amiss as the familiar theme tune was conspicuously absent before they appeared on screen.

Kate was quick to highlight the gaffe, noting, “Good Morning. We are a bit like a silent movie this morning due to technical issues with our music, but I’m sure we will get it sorted out.”

Despite not mentioning the hiccup again, it seemed the problem was sorted as the signature jingle returned, playing throughout the rest of the programme, reports the Manchester Evening News.

This little blip follows a buzz that GMB created among its audience when they broke unexpected pregnancy news. On the previous day’s edition, Thursday (February 27), entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold conducted his regular slot and brought on a special visitor for an exclusive chat on the early morning show.

There was sheer joy as Mummy Pig from Peppa Pig made her debut interview live on air – taking advantage of the moment to announce her pregnancy.

Commencing the segment, presenter Richard remarked: “My next guest is the matriarch of an entertainment dynasty that began with a TV show and moved into books, films and theme parks. They’ve been a favourite of kids and parents alike for the last 21 years and now, I’d like to welcome in her first-ever interview someone we’re all excited to meet..”

Then Mummy Pig popped onto the screen and said, “So I’m very excited to tell you all that I…” before being hastily interrupted by Peppa, overjoyed to see her mum on the telly just as she was about to reveal her exciting pregnancy news.

As the episode unfolded, those at home quickly flocked to social media to express their astonishment. A viewer took to X, previously known as Twitter, and exclaimed: “Did I really just see Mummy Pig get interviewed about her pregnancy on #GMB, or have I really lost it?”

Another confused fan questioned the reality of the situation, posting: “Am I tripping? Why are they interviewing Peppa Pig?” And one more added: “This segment is bonkers.”

Also, someone else chimed in with: “Mummy pig is pregnant. Breaking News. On #GMB welcome the new porker.”
